Matt's BMW E36

The E36 is no stranger to this site, with a few of the best examples in the Toronto area gracing the site, it’s easy to feel that we’ve reached the cream of the crop when it comes to the E36. I’m here to tell you, that couldn’t be further from the truth. This is Matt’s newly acquired 328i and it’s without question a looker.
Matt is also no stranger to the Oaties site as his E30 M3 has been on the homepage a few times and is always a fan favorite. This time however, Matt got in touch with me not about his E30 but about this E36 he just picked up. To locals this car will be familiar as it was previously owned by a local BMW enthusiast, so when the opportunity arose of this E36 going up for sale, Matt quickly got in touch and snatched it up.
The first thing you’ll obviously notice is the Jagermeister livery which definitely adds character to this E36. In fact, it’s actually what made Matt take a second look at the car in the first place. Having always wanted to DTM wrap his E30 M3, this E36 was in a way the perfect car for him.
Apart from the awesome livery, you’ll notice the addition of a full M kit, front and rear bumpers, side mirrors and a LTW rear spoiler to round it off. The E36 has also been lowered to a usable and drivable height, with a nice set of Compomotive Motorsport Wheels to compliment the overall look and feel of the car.
The way Matt sees it, the previous owner has taken care of the overall aesthetics of the car, leaving him to focus on his main reason for picking up this beauty, performance. When Matt had decided to pick up a new car, his main idea was to get a Corvette and chase high performance numbers. However who could blame him for picking this sedan up instead, this doesn’t mean the performance hunt is being let go. Matt plans on swapping a V8 into it to spruce up the power quite significantly.
There’s no question that this was a great pickup, the car is in decent shape and was obviously well kept by a proper enthusiast. I’m excited to see what’s next for this gem as Matt takes over the reigns and has big plans for it. There’s no denying Matt knows his stuff when it comes to the decisions with his cars, so the E36 should be interesting to watch, I know I’ll be staying tuned.
