I guess it started with my Dad, he was always really into cars, especially BMW's. I suppose that sort of rubbed off on me. I remember working a whole semester I had off, everyday from 9-5, just trying to save up for a car. The variety of cars I looked at during this time was incredible, from VW Rabbits to Cooper S's and even some American stuff. I finally decided to follow my Dad and get a BMW of some sort, I was really interested in the E30 but all the ones that were available at the time were in rough shape. I then shifted my eyes on a few E46 M3's..but they were way out of my budget. As I continued searching Autotrader, days after days, I finally came across this Avus Blue E36, I was never really into E36's but this one looked really clean and I could not get past that colour.

In my situation ,the bad was the official retirement of my E36. It wasn’t an easy decision as that was the car that, in a sense started this whole passion for the Bavarians; however I felt as though I had done everything that I had wanted with that chassis and decided on, instead of throwing even more money at it, pick up a different chassis and start a new project.
