As I'm sure you may already know while reading, this website is usually dedicated to bavarian flavoured vehicles. Although this is true, there are moments when you have to make an exception to the rule. This truck is one of those moments, it's classy, simple and it deserves the recognition.

I'm not particularly a truck guy of any sort but I do have to nod my cap to Wys on his Dodoge Ram. It's changed my perspective on these older trucks.

Wys is no stranger to the site, having two previous features, one being his recently sold E46 track car and the other being his daily E30. It's easy to say he knows his way around the garage and always has a good eye towards his vehicles.

So when he told me he was thinking of purchasing a truck for a daily to give his E30 a much needed rest, I wasn't too sure what to expect.

So the search began for a truck that was in decent shape and had somewhat of a square shape in design. The search was long and with many oil pans cracking on his current E30, the pressure was on to find one locally and quick.

With the main goal in mind being a Chevrolet C10 body style, it was near impossible finding one that was in good condition locally. The search had to be widened and that's when this Dodge Ram showed up a few more km's from his house.

So the decision was made and the Dodge was on route to its new destination. The truck undoubtedly needed some attention so Wys quickly got to work. The first order of business was of course getting the truck up to snuff. Thankfully the body was in decent shape so Wys focused on the underbody and the engine. Next was the suspension, the idea was to have the truck sitting low but not too low as it's main purpose is to help with our snowy Canadian days.

A few new parts were added, such as a flip kit to have that rear sitting a little lower. A little trickery and ingenuity to get the front side down as well and this truck now sits quite a bit lower without sacrificing any of it's towing or handling capacity. He then decided on refinishing the bed of the truck and respraying the roof white.

Like I said before, I'm not particularly someone who would normally be into trucks but I must admit being around this truck as it was coming together has inspired me to take second look at these older character filled trucks when they pass by. I'm looking forward to seeing whats to come with this truck in the coming months, stay tuned.
